Dr. J. Patrick Daugherty
Dr. Daugherty graduated cum laude from Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee, and attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. There he earned his PhD in radiation biology and biochemistry before attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham for his medical degree. His internship and residency were served at Carraway Medical Center and his medical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Daugherty has received numerous awards and honors, including the Distinguished Science Alumnus Award at Lee College. He has also served as the Vice President of the Tinsley Harrison Medical Student Society at UAB School of Medicine and was named Alumnus of the Year at Lee College. He was named to Who’s Who in the South and Southwest for 1995 and Who’s Who in the World for 1996. He is active in many civic, community and church activities. His work on DNA and the effects of various chemotherapy agents has been widely published.
Dr. Daugherty and his wife Rebecca have three daughters. His hobbies include woodworking and collecting medical artifacts.
